RRR, which stands for “Rise, Roar, Revolt,” is a 2022 Indian Telugu-language epic action drama film directed by S. S. Rajamouli, who co-wrote the film with V. Vijayendra Prasad. The film is produced by D. V. V. Danayya of DVV Entertainment.  The movie won India’s first-ever Golden Globe award this year, taking home the trophy for best original song. The winning song, “Naatu Naatu,” was composed by M.M. Keeravani, with lyrics from Chandrabose. The movie has also scored an Academy Award nomination in the original song category.

The film stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris. It centers around two real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao), their friendship, and their fight against the British Raj. Set in the 1920s, the film tells an alternate history story exploring the undocumented period in their lives, when both the revolutionaries chose to go into obscurity before they began the fight for their country.

Rajamouli’s older cousin and regular collaborator, M. M. Keeravani, composed the score and the soundtrack of the film.
