Abhijeet Bhattacharya



Abhijeet Bhattacharya was born to a Bengali family and is the youngest son. He is a Ramakrishna Mission Higher Secondary School, Kanpur. Then he completed his graduation from Christ Church College, Kanpur. He went to Mumbai in the year 1981 to study Chartered Accountancy. But he had a passion and fascination for singing and decided to choose singing as his career. He started singing and doing live performance with famous Orchestra group Melody Makers.

R.D Burman called him to sing in Dev Anand’s son’s debut film Anand Aur Anand. This was his first film and got the opportunity to sing with his idol Kishor Kumar. He started his playback singing.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya won the award for Screen Award for Best Male Playback in 1997 for Chand Taare from Yes Boss and Filmfare Best Playback Singer in 1998 for the song Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaaon from Yes Boss.
